36 Days of Type 2018: Vernacular Typography

This is the 36 Days of Type series I made on 2018.

36 Days of Type is a yearly open call project that invites designer, illustrator, and graphic artist to express their particular interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet. The participant are challenged to design a letter or number each day for consecutive 36 days, and upload their work via instagram. This project is intended to be a space for creation around typography and its endless graphic possibilities.

On 2018, I made series of letters that inspired by the style of vernacular typography. It's highly ornamental, some letters maybe looks funky and maybe a lil bit unusual, but for me that's the charm of vernacular right? :) In my hometown Bandung (Indonesia), most of the vernacular type looks very cheerful. So I used vibrant colours, to impersonate  that nuances.

It's a very fun project for me.  Hope you enjoy it :)
That's all. Hope u enjoy my work. You can also see this project through my instagram
Thanks!
