Role: Script Writer, Musical Director, Original Song Composer, & Actor

Out of all the projects I worked on in Awesome Studios, this had to be the biggest production yet. This shoot had two months of preparation behind it: idea proposals for the campaign, lyric and script writing once client confirmed to go with a musical, storyboard creation, original song composition, working with music producer to fine tune the song, studio recordings with the talents, rehearsals... all boiling down to a four day shoot.
I was involved every step of the way. From writing the script and tweaking the lyrics with the team, to actually composing the original first recording with just myself and a guitar. During the main shoot at the PETRONAS station I was given the role of "Musical" Director (not to be confused with the main Director). My job was to assist the Director in all the Musical-related aspects of the shoot. While the Director was focusing on how the shot looks on camera overall, I was in charge of making sure their blocking, dancing, facial expressions and singing was accurate and good enough for the screen.
Overall, this was a fantastic learning experience. Despite all the challenges and hardships that came along the way, the satisfaction of seeing something that started on paper turn into a stunning musical was incomparable. Our clients were extremely happy with this production, and we in turn were proud of this achievement. Win-win.
