The short comic DIGGIN' was made for the collaborative SICC-Zine.
It's an interdisciplinary, experimental zine with positions by artists working in a variety of fields. The central topic of the zine is: What happens, when artists get sick? It is important to highlight the fact, that it does not matter, what kind of sickness the artists choose to focus on. Whether it may be physical, mental, emotional or even fictional – the artists express their ties to the subject through their personal style and form language.
The aim of the project is the discovery of a new approach to the topic of sickness through humour and abstraction, since it is currently given a lot of negative attention by the media.
This comic is a visual interpretation of a very specific feeling:
the call of the void.
Sometimes the wish to dig a hole and enter a new world evolves further and further in my thoughts. Being cut off from the outside to hear only the muffled sounds of his other earth sometimes sounds quite wonderful.
