ABRAZO unit provides suitable environmental conditions to organize a physical and social environment conducive to correct premature baby's neurological development, individualized, family-centered, for which minimizes stress factors for the baby and the family during their stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

 
Design Concept: Embrace, this sums up in a single gesture of the mother the need to give protection and love, this is the purpose of the project. The elements inside the unit are arranged in a perimeter near the mother. Dimensions and distribution within the NICU.
The accompanying couch favors visual, audible and physical interaction between between mother and baby. Were considered comfortable positions for prolonged stay in the NICU.
The ABRAZO unit have a control panel for the mother and another control panel to the medical staff.
The incubator can be removed from the unit for internal transfers. It also allows a correct accessibility and visibility of the baby to the mother and to the medical staff.
The incubator includes mattress inside phototherapy equipment fiber optic technology. This can be used with the baby on the mattress. While this makes it possible to change the baby's position without opening the incubator. The mattress surface becomes concave or convex depending on the need.
In this sketch are listed the processes and materials of the main functional and constructive components of the ABRAZO unit. This description is of a general character. The unit includes technology and components common in medical equipment being produced today.
