Celebrating 40 years of Roger McGough

This poster was designed in response to an ISTD competition to create a ‘collectable’ celebrating 40 years of Roger McGough. Screenprinted in red acrylic on A1 tracing paper, it explores McGough’s use of deconstruction, musicality, rhythm and the spoken word itself, to convey different aspects of his poetry. The poem “A Lot of Water has Flown under your Bridge” is visually interpreted in these four ways, and can either be folded together to show these elements physically combining, or separated into four A4 collectable posters.

This work has also been published in the “Big Book of Contemporary Illustration” by Martin Dawber.
