Brief: Majo's Restaurant Rebrand
Client: Majo's Casual Italian Dinning
The Majo's brief required a rebrand of the restaurant through elements such as the logo, a main menu, takeaway menu, dessert menu and an interior wall piece. The client requested the use of a vintage Italian theme with the colour options of Majo's existing brown and red colour palette. The other major consideration was their wide and varied target audience who frequent the restaurant located in New Farm, Brisbane.
My design incorporates illustrations of several 1940/50's Italian elements giving the design a warm and vintage feel. Integrating hand made elements into a digital design reflects the friendly and casual atmosphere of the restaurant while maintaining a clean and easy to navigate layout for menus.
The redesign of the Majo's logo needed to preserve the original typeface (Calibri) at the clients request therefore elements were added to express the rebrand. The illustrated spoon and fork alongside the organic, 'handwritten' typeface used for the tagline were additions that gave Majo's a more 'casual Italian dining' tone.
In addition to the logo and the menus, Majo's restaurant required a graphic to be displayed on a glass wall of the restaurant. Based on my vintage themed concept, I sketched a 1954 Italian Vespa and then proceeded to create a vector version which complimented the 'hand made' focused design of the menus.
