Togerther with Susan Bijen I designed the yearbook 2009/2010 for ArtEZ Academy for Fine Art and Design in Enschede, The Netherlands.
Besides the work of the graduates, the book shows a review of the past year in text and images. The academy is well known for its experimental and colourfull identity. We captured this special atmosphere into a very exciting and surprising book
As there was a limited budget, we had to find several solutions to maintain the concept. These solutions were found in the use of materials and the way of printing. The book contains four kinds of paper, with each a different type of print. It has an open binding with red threath and a minimum of glue. The covers are screenpinted by hand on recycled cardboard. Out of one big print, they cut out eight different covers, which gives every book a unique appearance.
