There is reality beyond aspect.
It makes sense to think of reality and aspect as parts of an exposition.
We never see, perception or feel directly ‘’material objetcs’’, but only subjective ideas, and sensorial impressions.
Maybe this manifests even more when these objects are seen for the first time, because there are no expectations regarding what it is we are observing next, therefore being our first impression of things the one we treasure the most, and the one that will stay with us longer.
When I say that there’s reality beyond aspect, I’m referring to the fact that we are constantly influenced by what makes us who we are as individuals, when we actually observe. Like a prejudgment, a preconcept. That makes every perspective of things, unique. No one looks at things the same way.
Therefore, I decided to photograph Casa da Música: an extremely known building all around the world, already seen and photographed by thousands of people, yet managing to acquire my own perspective over it.
