Dark Mode UI Studies

Dark mode studies

I recently challenged myself to create a screen a day to study and practice. Here are some of my results testing dark and light themes.

Figma and Photoshop are used for all projects and which of them normally takes around 30 minutes to 3 hours to get done.
Weather app

My first test was with a weather app. I kept the main functions of an application to track weather: location, temperature, maximum and minimum, temperature curve throughout the day and forecast for the next 7 days.
Music player

My second test was a music player. I also kept the main functions of a music player app, with the play/pause button, next or previous, shuffle and repeat, name, a favorite button and a plus button to add to your playlist.
Credit card controller

My third test was a credit card controller. With simplicity, I decided to use only the card's last numbers, balance and transactions to display in the main menu.
Task board

For this one I decided to try a different device. I used a vertical nav bar to have more space for the board, horizontal scroll, columns, tags, comments, team area, search, drag n drop and add a card individually in each column.
Tourism menu screen

For this one I decided to use a tourism app, with a search box, bigger menus, popular destinations and daily dials.
Shopping store

For this one I decided to change and try some different effects and UIs. So I came up with Darkly, a brand for a store that sells only black clothes and accessories.
This is an ongoing project, so there is more to come!
