It is interesting how taxidermy works: it simultaneously preserves nature while being accused of destroying it. It is the one artform where violation and restitution are seen so close to one another. Regardless, witnessing something dead in vigorous poses undeniably invokes something inherently philosophical, which, perhaps, is why discomfort arises.
