For this brief we designed a website and posters around the topic of corruption within schools, specifically in the case of principals who have stolen money from school bank accounts. Through research we found that there was the need for a system that would encourage principals to manage the funds in schools. Our website and posters aim to focus on the positive, through the use of incentives and spreading positive messages while also providing a platform where principals can be reported.
School students in low income areas need a system that encourages principals to manage funds because Corruption watch, a non-government organization, said that between 2012 and 2015 it received more than 1 000 reports of school principals who had stolen cash from school bank accounts. This results in many schools with poor infrastructure, overcrowding and poor academic achievement due to a lack of funds.
How might we create a system that encourages principals to manage funds for students in low income areas? Corruption watch, a non-government organization, said that between 2012 and 2015 it received more than 1 000 reports of school principals who had stolen cash from school bank accounts. This results in many schools with poor infrastructure, overcrowding and poor academic achievement due to a lack of funds.

We used brighter colours because it suits the positive aspect of our website and posters. We also wanted the designs to stand out and be more fun while still looking professional.
The idea with the website is that principals would be able to log into their accounts through the log in page and access the different categories that relate to them. Other users won't be able to log in but they can view certain categories within the website.
The first page is dedicated to the principal of the month and is used to show details about the school such as the amount of students, employees and the school's revenue. They can look at the graph showing their expenditure across different categories as well as being able to view their latest transactions. The page contains a message thanking the principal for all they have done for their school. The next page can be accessed by other users where they can send a positive message about a principal from a certain school.
This is the donation page where users can donate money to a school of their choosing. The page contains information about the donations and contains a pop up where the user can choose the school they want to donate to and how much they want to give.
The website contains a profile search which can be accessed by the principals and the users. They can search for a name which will lead to a pop up containing the details of the person such as their education, experience and their record in terms of corruption. The pop up contains a vote and report button.
Principals can log into this page to view or upload their monthly budgets to help them keep track of their income and expenditure. The pop up requires the principal to select three or more names of people to sign off which is done to ensure that the budget is correct and that no corruption is taking place.
The last feature of the website is the votes page. This can be accessed by the principal and they can see the amount of votes they have received. This is part of an incentive where they can win a salary increase as well as a prize for their school. The pop up on the right is an example of a smaller prize that can be won for receiving the most votes.

To keep our designs consistent we made sure to use the same illustration style throughout, as well as colour palette and typefaces. We ensured that the different pages were treated in the same way as well as setting rules out for our type.
This image demonstrates the user flow of the website. Principals can log in from the home page and view their categories which takes them to the principal of the month, budget, profile search and votes pages. The user on the other hand goes straight to their categories and in turn they can access the message, donation and profile search pages.
The idea behind these posters is to advertise the website so people can find out about it. We advertised the donation aspect of the website and also used an incentive to get people to look at the website, where they can win a coupon just for scanning the QR code.
