The Pack Campaign

Four other students and I were chosen by the Wellington City Council to collaborate with them, NZ Police and ACC on this project.  We were asked to redesign and the WCC 'Safe in the City' campaign, that is aimed at students and young people out drinking in town. We created an extensive new campaign 'The Pack' which features posters, paste ups, an app, a website, and a launch at Massey University that featured free 'doggy bags'.

This campaign went live around Wellington CBD in February 2013 and is still running today.

The Wellington City Council teamed me up with a local web development company, Rabid, to bring our app to life. I spent a month working hands-on with the Rabid team user testing, reproducing wire-frames and producing graphics until completion of the app.

The app is a safety tool that helps you keep track of your friends during a night drinking. Aimed primarily at
first-year university students, the app allows users to create a ‘pack’ of their trusted friends, share and view
their locations, send out a push notification, the ‘wolf cry’, if they get into trouble and access local taxi and
bus services.

Our print campaign, consisting of posters, paste ups, brochures and coasters promoted our message 'stick with the pack' and our app.
Wellington City is full of street art. Considering this, we gave our campaign a point of difference, using our own street art for advertsing. Also it promoted positive messages down dodgy alley ways.
We had three articles written about our campaign. This stunning photo below was taken by the Dominion Post NZ for their article.
