CALEBOA: spine board for special injuries rescue

CALEBOA
(Caso de Lesión espinal Boca Abajo)
Spinal board for First aid Rescue at cases of patients having a spinal injury and being located upside down.
The case of study came to observation of first aid professional protocol and further detection of risk factors at maneuvering. The main goal came to develop equipment qualities that would make possible to require less personal for maneuvers in order to agilize first aid procedure.
Considering both patient and rescuer as users; one of the main risks come at spinal injury cases where patient's mobility goes down considerabilly and maneuver quality becomes critical.
The provided solution consists in an optimization of the spinal board by increasing it´s versatily. The improvements to the design come at it's use when controling an injured patient by putting the holes on the board in a way that makes for easy strapping-on and also allows for directional speciefic log maneuver simplification by making it possible for a single rescuer.
A ramping in the board's thickness was made in order to provide a "scoop" effect in case of need for picking up a patient located on the floor.
