For the project below I was tasked with creating a 32 page, hand-bound booklet inspired by a specific noun - "car." Filling a 32 page book with images relating to the noun "car" while keeping the design and content exciting required me to take a fresh look at something I interact with on a daily basis. The process began with creating a mind map of every idea that came into my head, writing it down before judging the idea or thinking too hard. Using found imagery I explored ideas from the mind map throughout the book, focusing specifically on climate change, crashes, computer vision, materials, waste, and manufacturing. The page spreads were created in indesign, duplex printed, and bound as a single signature with the cover. The center of the book contains an extended infold shown in the video below. To create the cover I designed a "C" letterform and printed it on a heavy bright yellow paper, using a carved block to create a relief print.
