  • Objective: Choose a 50+ word excerpt about language. Use limited weight changes to create a strong typographical piece.

    Process:  This was a typographic exercise to explore the structure of type. The content was take from a poem my brother wrote and performed about the death of Hawaiian language. The translation of Kaona is “hidden meaning” and it relates to the illegal imprisionment of the Hawaiian Queen. Her people had to sneak her messages in order for the Queen to communicate with the outside world.
