First, myself and Johanna, the client, discussed what her particular approach is to translation, and what she brings to it specifically. 

Then I asked her to show me examples of existing styles she likes. From this I can sense an aesthetic approach. This is then used to refer back to during the process and help us agree on direction. 

The following slides were part of my design presentation. I was interested in exploring how to represent the translation process visually. The heart is a symbol that represents the essence of something, and a true core to the meaning. We literally take it apart and reassemble it ... but it is not the same again, it is composed of new pieces but gives an accurate replication.
