Today, more than ever, the world seems too small for us. The new rules took away our freedom as we knew it, so we had to find it in another way. And in another place. 

To launch the Netflix Original movie Rose Island, the incredible story of Giorgio Rosa who, back in 1968, literally built his own world 500 meters outside the Italian national borders - in the middle of the sea - we gave back life to Rose Island, creating a free, independent, revolutionary and rules-free world.

but where freedom is not just an idea.
Where a man’s dream 
can become a dream for everyone.
There’s an island where everyone works hard 
to never end the party.
An island that welcomes everyone, 
because what matters is where you want to go
and not where you come from.
Where you can be who you want to be,
as long as you do what you want to do.
There’s an island that’s hated by the people that matter, 
because everyone there counts the same way.

This is Rose Island.
Born in no one’s waters,
built to belong to everyone.

Get ready to breathe freedom.

The new Rose Island was announced through its national manifesto, which was released on the newspapers. Also, some milestones were spread around the city, such as freedom of expression, inclusion, hospitality, LGBTQ+ support.

There is an island where harbours are always open.
There is an island where there is rainbow all year long.
There is an island with no brain drain.
There is an island where people party although pubs and clubs are closed.



In a week, we created from zero the new Rose Island,
engaging the online community and becoming day by day a bigger micronation.
As a first thing, the President spoke. He declared the complete independence of the micronation from the Italian state and the whole world.

To be patriotic let’s sing and dance on the National Anthem, 
created together with Lo Stato Sociale.

On Rose Island, everyone is welcome but they must have a specific role.
The President started announcing the National Government, then he opened up the applications to the whole online community.

There’s no nation without a National Team.
Since we needed experience, we involved the most expert coach, Giovanni Trapattoni. 
And the project was launched also through the most famous newspaper,
Gazzetta Dello Sport.

When you’re having fun, time passes quickly. And all good things, end. 
However, the most important one is never stop looking for freedom, wherever it is and whatever it takes.
