Motion graphics, video and lithic design elements for the inedited project, promoted by the CMC, the Chiampo Marble Consortium, introduced to the 48th edition of Marmomacc in Verona, as a part of the design research project Pietra Fluida thought up by Aldo Colonetti e Paolo Baldessari.
Conceived for stimulating new collaborations among marble processing companies and young designers, SFUMATURE is the project, planned by Andrea Andrea Gross Gaiani e Giulia Regalin, with the aims of representing the manifold nature of the ten firms that have taken part to it.
The natural stone, protagonist of the exhibition, is proposed in unusual forms, far from the traditional uses, in order to create for it new possibilities and new sceneries.
But, looking at marble manufacturing from different perspective doesn’t mean taking off its natural beauty; on the contrary, the project tries to exalt it, finding new way of expressions.
Moreover, unpublished metaphoric languages are used to explain the involved factories’ core business showing the designers point of view.
SFUMATURE, opens at Marmomacc 2013 in Verona and the nit will be proposed again at Made Expo in Milano.
The project is a complex system of different languages and it uses three efficient ways ofcommunicating: video, graphic and design elements production.
Videos use the motion graphic style, with an inedited metaphoric way of explaining each company involved in the project, illustrating it in a personal manner, giving it a new image and showing it through the designers thought.
Graphics furnish precise and detailed information about the companies, in order to let the corebusiness of the firms comes immediately out. This way of expressing is the result of a particular research of the designers, who decided to recognise differences and specialization of each company as the add-value of the network of
factories created by the Consortium.

The design elements have been created thanks to an intensive cooperation between the firms and the designers. Each one represents an unusual and original way of introducing a company, which has been called to express itself, its know-how about marble processing and its knowledge about natural materials through this element.The collection sum up 10 objects that show how a simple manufactured element can express in a direct and strong way the identity of who produces it.

The game begins with all of the blocks stacked in descending order. The objective is to stack all of the pieces on the post, moving one piece at a time and stacking the blocks only in descending order (from largest to smallest). The players have direct physical contact with the material, feeling its weight and texture, and observing the colours of the different.natural stones.
