Cinemagraph assignment

My artwork in this piece illustrates our position in society.  Whether we realize it or not, each of us has a position to nurture others.  Whether it is children, friends or in this case birds, we nurture others through our words and actions.  In this cinemagraph the bird feeders represent one of our actions to nurture.

The shot was made using an iPhone 11 and photoshop was used in the editing process.
I think of the swirling cup of hot chocolate as our world over the past year.  Continually moving, swirling around us at varying speed.  Each point in the rotation represents different periods of time in our life spectrum.  Constant but varying.

I used an iPhone 11 to film this shot.   Photoshop was then used to create the cinemagraph.
Politics and the pandemic.  This piece represents to me the past year and the constant feed of only politics and pandemics being fed to the world.  It is never ending.  Other stories exist as represented by the muffins.  But like the muffins, they sit isolated.

An iPhone 11 was used to film this piece and Photoshop was used to edit and complete the cinemagraph.
The wet apple represents life as we experience it.  Some memories fade away and eventually vanish like the water bead on the right as it slides off the apple and away.  And then another appears to take its place.  The water bead on the left can be seen as our heartbeat as it pulses continuously as we go through the experiences that build our memories.

I used my iPhone to film the sequence and then used Photoshop to edit the piece to create the cinemagraph.
The dragonfly sits atop the glass floats as it swings like a pendulum from one extreme to another.   He sits there as time goes by enjoying his ride.   For me and where I am in my life I am very much like the dragonfly.  I am sitting on top of my pendulum as time passes.   I am enjoying the ride.

This cinemagraph was created using Photoshop after being filmed with an iPhone.
Water flowing continuously.   In this piece I use the water to represent time passing through our life.  Whether it is within a day, a week or a year, time flows like a river through life.   It doesn’t matter what period of time we select; time continues to flow.  Sometimes narrow and limited, other times scattered and disorganized.   At all points it continues to flow.

Equipment that was used for filming was an iPhone.  Photoshop provided the ability to edit and create the cinemagraph.
