Penang's Dia Muertos (Day Of The Dead)

What is Day Of The Dead

The common stereotype that most of us have about the Day of the Dead Festival is that it is just another “Halloween” but it is in fact not. It is an annual tradition from Mexican, now celebrated on November 1 and 2, in which to mainly honour the dead.By the late 20th century in most regions of Mexico, Day of the Dead practices had developed to honor dead children and infants on November 1, and to honor deceased adults on November 2. November 1 is generally referred to as Día de los Inocentes ("Day of the Innocents") or Día de los Angelitos ("Day of the Little Angels"). November 2 is referred to as Día de los Muertos or Día de los Difuntos ("Day of the Dead"). It is held for the return of the afterlife and encourage them to visit the world of the living for one night.  Through this video and website, it will let people know more about this festival with an addition of our local elements. This is to show people how it look like if we celebrate this Western festival in Penang.
