Planning Studio Winter 2010
The document below comes from my final studio project at Eastern Michigan University.  Teams were given a site in Cherry Hill Village, a New Urbanist designed community in Canton Township.  Our team proposed a mixed use residential development that adapted to the challenging terrain and traditional character of the surrounding community. Using photos, hand drawn images and digital models, I put together a booklet for our final presentation using Scribus.  Take a look at some select pages below
Hamtramck Community Profile
Economic Development Administration

I assisted with the document design for the Hamtramck Community Profile at the Economic Development Administration.  We developed the profile for a federal funding workshop in Hamtramck, which brought together community leaders and government officials to spur unique grant partnerships.  Take a look at the whole document below.
Block and Street Character Posters
This following posters are some of my first document design projects, created for a Planning Graphics course using Google Sketchup and Google Layout.  The first is of the Key Bank block in Ypsilanti.  Most weekdays, parked cars dominate the block.  However, once a week in the summer, Growing Hope hosts its downtown farmers market, peppering the lot with colorful tents.  As per the assignment, the sketches and images capture the block's variety of uses.  Click here for a higher resolution version.
This next poster is a profile of Depot Town in Ypsilanti.  I used cross sections to give a sense of scale.  Check out a higher resolution version here.
