Curiosity Killed the Cat
“What is she doing?”

“Where is she going off to?”

“What is she staring at?”

The little girl sat on a rock in the middle of the stream, her reflection could be seen in the clear running waters. The crowd outside on the lawn whispered to one another over the strange little girl.

“She’s a curious one, isn’t she?” An old lady spoke to herself, as she continued to carve on a piece of wood.

“Again?”

“What is she doing out there?”

“She’ll slip and drown at this rate...”
The old lady rocked in her chair as she stared at the little girl the next day. “Soon…” She spoke.

Her wood carving is almost complete. The little girl followed her usual routine of looking down onto the river screen again. Just as she reached her sitting point at the rock. She felt a sudden uneasiness. She looked over the river, towards the lawn. A small reptile figurine made of wood stood on top of a rocking chair. The girl looked back down onto the river. Instead of her own reflection this time, she saw a giant reptile, rods of electricity seeping through the creature and eyes gouged out, tongue twisting around it’s massive elongated teeth as it shot towards her in a heartbeat. A slight splash was heard over at the lawn.

“What happened?” The crowd spoke between themselves. The little girl tiptoed her way out of the river and back to the porch. A sudden gleam in her eye. The wood carving, broken.

Elevator Pitch: A little girl finds a spirit demon inside the riverbed and stares at it every day. The spirit demon drained her energy and finally possessed the little girl, the demon being removed from its weak human form.

Story Spine: Once upon a time… A little girl lived alone with her relatives.
Everyday… She wanted to watch river tides from the rocks nearby.
Until one day… she decided to hop on top of one of the river rocks and find a spirit demon inside the riverbed.
Because of this… She was compelled to visit the demon everyday and just stare Because of that… she was mentally and physically draining everyday.
Because of that… An old woman kept an eye on her but their intentions were unclear as she would always be carving a wooden statue.
Until finally… The little girl looked into the riverbed too close and the spirit killed her, all the while taking over her body.
Ever since… The little girl wasn't the same and the old woman was never seen again.

Moral of the story - Don’t be too curious, you may end up asking too much to handle.
