The first project for Art 230 was to create two typographic compositions using the sans serif font Neue Haas Grotesque Bold and the serif font Stempel Garamond Roman. Each composition needed to contain 5-8 glyphs which were black and white in color. As well as include five different elements of typographic anatomy all while utilizing design principles.  I began by first identifying the 5-8 glyphs I wanted to include in each of my compositions. Next, I started brainstorming by drawing thumbnail sketches. After which I created digital sketches using Illustrator. One of my favorite parts of the project was next, choosing two of the most solid compositions and creating several variations of them. After receiving some peer feedback and reviewing my designs even more I created my final two compositions which you see above.
