Art 230 l Project 01
This project has given me some great insight into the anatomy of typography. Learning about the different elements that make up a font family was very interesting. I also learned some great concepts that will help me in my design process moving forward. The most important lesson is how valuable it is to create multiple variations of my Glyphs. I was able to play around with the different letters and see what worked and what didn't. In the past, I would modify the same composition instead of creating variations. I would not be able to go back and review what worked and what didn't. Using variation will allow me to use elements from different variations together. I used them as a guide for how my digital sketches would be created. To be honest, after the first 10 sketches I decided to switch to creating them on Illustrator. I found it easier to play around with the composition of each sketch. I could manipulate each asset and play around with different concepts. I then went back to my sketches and used some of the digital sketches as reference. I hope this approach is okay?
