Our Planetary Neighbors

Our Planetary Neighbors

As a child, I dreamt of becoming an astronaut, and even now, I dream of space. For all of us, our planetary neighborhood has been brought closer, in photographic detail once unimaginable, thanks to probes like the Voyager. It has also grown to include exoplanets and realms of the cosmos still beyond the capacities of our technologies to envision or to visit

This project, drawing our planetary neighbors, develops an aesthetic to travel to other planets with only the movement of the imagination and the oil pastel. Using research into our solar system (planets, dwarf planets, asteroids, satellites and comets knowable thanks to NASA’s probes), I recreate fixed moments of these bodies transiting around our star.

An ongoing project, Celestial Bodies aims to uncover new aesthetic ways to journey through the galaxy in full color.
