In September 2020, I was selected along with other 30 Argentinian women to be mentees in a program developed by @masmujeresux ("more women in UX"). As a part of the mentorship, I was assigned this challenge:
"If you were in charge of redesigning the Home page of Book Depository,
how would you do it? Tell us what would you bear in mind,
how would you start, and to what conclusions or improvement
proposals did you arrive."
To begin with, I would ask the stakeholders what is the goal behind this redesign. To get a better comprehension of what this project would need and what specific goals need to be set, I would suggest the following research stages:

I would validate these proposals with the development and content teams, and according to the schedule and resources available for this project.
Guided tour
Whether the site is fully redesigned or there are gradual changes, we could add a guided tour with tooltips for the menu, so that the users can find the functions easily and regain confidence upon using the site.
