Magazine deconstruction

Theme: Deconstruction

For me, as a young and hopefully future graphic designer, I think that inspiration comes from all the magazines and books we look at.
We deconstruct information we receive to rebuild something from it.
And this is what I want to show using books, scalpels and the laser cutter.
I’ve always been interested in books and how they communicate ideas. For this project I created one final poster which illustrates how artists get inspired by deconstructing the information that is around them.
At first I used that laser cutter to just engrave a message on the magazine hoping it would be readable. Then I used a scalpel to cut in the magazine to give that impression of taking off some parts of the magazine. I quite like how it looked so on photoshop I duplicated the image to give the impression that ideas and inspiration are going all over the place. But I deceided to stick with the original image and just add some text using Futura.

I've initially did this project on a Tumblr.
