The objective was to recreate the Gekkeikan Sake label to target female adults who wanted quality, but affordable sake. I researched sake label designs as well as designs in asian cultures. A lot of designs within asian cultures embraced a handmade feel. I made the brand look more handwritten instead of using a standard font. The texture of the paper isn’t smooth, its more like calligraphy paper. I chose to do a Japanese Cherry Blossom tree with blossoms falling for the artwork on the label. I used ink to make the artwork then I digitized it. I chose pink to not only represent feminism, but to represent the color of the Japanese Cherry Blossoms. Below is the label spread out and a photograph of the label on the bottle.
