A block-printing project that sums up Bab ElShereya in a three-color illustration.

Bab El Shereya is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Cairo, Egypt. It's a melting pot of craftsmen, merchants and artists that make it a lively, shopping neighborhood. It was almost impossible for me to sum up the neighborhood under one illustration, so I decided on a literal translation instead. 

Bab translates to door in Arabic and Shereya translates to noodles. Elements like the ceiling fan and the table (طاولة) were added to the bowl of noodles and the open doors to further add to the Egyptian feel of the place.
