Tame Impala Poster
Inspired by the art style of Ada Zielinska
Project
This piece was inspired by the artwork style of Ada Zielinska.
Her illustrations have a heavy use of gradient with darker backgrounds.
I chose to make a custom poster for Tame Impala, who is a Psychedelic Rock musician.

Research
Before I started on the project, I wanted to research more about the artist.
After looking at her artwork, I went on YouTube to look up tutorials for using the Gradient tool in Illustrator.
From there, I made my canvas for the project and began practicing with the Gradient tool.
The Process
Once I had a solid understanding of the Gradient tool, I began putting together my project, piece by piece.
First, I made a background gradient of the main colors I wanted to use.
Second, I put a low-opacity black square over the piece to darken it.
The third step was creating the gradient bubbles.
After that, I felt that the background was a little too dark so I made another gradient layer over the piece so the bubbles didn't seem to stick out as much.
Once I was satisfied with the background and the bubbles, I thought of some ways on how to put Tame Impala's name on there. I ended up going with this design because I felt like it looked like something Ada Zielinska would do.
Lastly, I chose to put a thin, black border around each "Tame Impala." I thought it was a good idea because it seemed to give the piece more depth and better replicated Ada's style.
Conclusion
I am very satisfied with the final piece. There were definitely a lot of different things I could've done to match Ada's style, but I feel this one did a really good job at doing just that. I plan on doing more with the knowledge I gained from this project.
