UX/UI Design I Grip. Website & App

About the project
Grip. isn't only a skateboard store but a skateboarders crew too, based in Porto. It started in 90's, in a smart store selling only apparel and boards.
The product
The goal was to create a Website and an app that shared the brand values and the skateboard culture. With these digital platforms, they wanted to share the brand's history, the crew members and allow customers to acquire streetwear products, skateboards as well as creating customized skateboards.

RESEARCH

Comparative Assessment
We did a market research, investigated competitor products in order to analyse their strengths and weaknesses.

- Penny Skateboards
- Zoo York
Oportunities
After doing this research, we found which were the oportunities that would be worth pursuing and that would be nice to have in the website and app:

- Filter by brand
- Customize the own skate
- Sell clothes
- Invite influencers for the crew
- Share photos on Instagram
- Create Wishlist
- Comunicate events
- Win points

Interviews
In this phase of the project, we conducted user interviews, with ages between 19 and 30 years old, in order to get a better understanding of the problem.

Here are some interesting interview quotes:

Personas
Based on the interviews we set up two personas. We referred to them throughout the entire product development process.

STYLE GUIDE
Colors, Icons and Typography.

Wireframes
At the beginning of this design process, we created wireframes for testing purposes.

WIREFRAMES - DESKTOP
WIREFRAMES - MOBILE
User Testing
Before launching the product, we did a testing round in order to reveal possible usability problems.

Results:
About Buy a Product - "Confusing Flow"
About Homepage - "Day Rider or Night Rider is it only an option for the user?" "I'm not sure if I understand the meaning behind some words. To me they are not legible."
About Made yourself - "I don't understand the prohibited sign" "Signed with most importance the selected board!" "I would put the cancel buttons and kick back bigger and with more importance"
About Shop Section - "Buy it page is similar to the wishlist page"
About Check Out - "Problems doing the check out"
About Menu - "What does it mean the skate icon and the wallet icon?"
In General "Images and text seem very big"
