This is my second year doing the creative for The Showdown. I decided to change the feel a bit from a Hatch Show Print style to a more retro, yet still "country" look. There is less emphasis on illustration and more on a clean aesthetic that focuses on the name of the race itself. The Showdown Half Marathon is a race based on the Red River Rivalry game between the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma football teams that takes place every year in October. Participants are given the option to be neutral or to "choose their side". Team affiliations are reflected in the tech tee and race bib received in the swag bag and in the finisher's medals.

Training shirts are typically ordered in a variety of colors and sizes. This is the women's tank top in blue and white. Race participants wear these in the weeks leading up to the race while training or at other race events.
