If we need anything in 2021 (other than the pubs to reopen fully) it’s a laugh.

This piece is a part of Oxymorons; a satirical series of digital collages created from a mix of my own photography and stock images that look to take a light-hearted approach to the everyday frustrations of today’s society, explore our biggest pet peeves, and expose the morons.

I want to create something fun and accessible that invites people to take a breath, switch off for a second, and release some trivial frustrations while having a chuckle, or even sparking a conversation. The entire collection is exhibited on Instagram to enable easy access and engagement.

Throughout my project I’ve continued my role within marketing agency Moment, and the influence of this role is clear as I progress through Oxymorons. The project has become more than a series of fun and satirical collages but also focuses on the social media marketing strategies behind the account. Speaking to a range of artists and social media strategists, I’m learning as I go and documenting the process to form a final book of social media strategies in practise as well as a limited edition set of hand finished prints.
