Hannya Mask
Japan has always been a source of inspiration. It’s rich culture, food, music and design have influenced my work heavily.
This piece is a Hannya (般若) mask, a jealous female demon, that appears in Noh theatre. The designs of the masks are incredible, as is the face painting in Kabuki theatre.
