Rebranding SOTA Universiti Sains Malaysia


REBRANDING SOTA is a group  project for VGT104 BRANDING AND CORPORATE IDENTITY

Our design concept is in urban modern style with edgy cool design look. Overall, the designs that we created are in dark mood which able to bring out the outcome more effectively. As we know, purple is often known for ambitious and of course represents meanings of creativity and wisdom while orange is associated with meanings of warmth and happiness. We are trying to rebrand SOTA as a cool artistic institution that offers to everyone around the world.




LOGO DESIGN

For our logo, we remained the original colour of it, which is in purple and orange where orange represents SOTA’s identity whereas purple for USM’s wording. In the logo, we added “School of the Arts” in between the middle gap of it so that everyone will know the meaning of SOTA. Besides, we used TT PROSTO SANS for our logo font to adapt with our design concept, which creates a clearer visual. At the bottom part, we did a few versions of inverted logo in white, black and orange to use on dark and light backgrounds.




WELCOMING PACK

we did a bunch of merchandise mock up’s of caps, bag pack, paper bag, pen drive, cups, pens, tag and of course the most important and essential merchandise that we had – the face mask!




FLAG DESIGN



POSTER DESIGN

This is the advertising poster that we designed for the school. We used a friendly yet informative toner voice to attract our audience/students. We used short wording in our poster so that it is easy to understand and read. Not only that, we did provide QR code at the corner of the posters to link with our school’s website to gain more information about the school. In this way, students can access everything with just a snap to get information quickly through their device.




We remained our dark mood theme concept to portray the points that we are going to show. Our first poster is ART FOR EVERYONE, which is our new tagline that we created for SOTA while the 2nd poster is EARTH WITHOUT ART JUST EH, which is a quote that remind our audience about the importance of arts in this world.

POSTER DESIGN FOR THE COURSES

We took initiatives to introduce the courses that we offered in SOTA through poster. Again, we remained our design concept to portray the main points that we had. In these posters, we did show the courses and programs that the school’s offered. Besides, we also did a list of job proposition for every course so that students will have an idea of it.



VIDEOS FOR INTRODUCTION

We also did 2 promo videos for our audience. The first video is an introduction of USM and SOTA so that our audience will have a better understanding of the campus while the other video is about the 6 courses that we had in SOTA. The overall concept of the videos is in EDM and techno kind of feel so that we can attract our audience in a funky way.
