De Ca(s/z)a - Pool Intervention / Piscina intervenida

Esta es una intervención en una piscina abandonada en la finca de mi familia de la cual me apropio por medio del dibujo, aludiendo al espacio doméstico como un lugar artificial, de cultivo, en el cual se dan relaciones de fuerza entre sus habitantes como las de depredadores y presas. Esta obra hace parte de “Proyecto Bagre” en el cual exploro nociones como la timidez e incomodidad, que a su vez desencadenan preguntas sobre la identidad, los instintos, el habitar y la relación con lxs otrxs, a través de un personaje metafórico llamado Bagre.

En De ca(s/z)a tomo como punto de partida un diario en el cual registré a través de la escritura y el dibujo reflexiones en torno a situaciones de la vida cotidiana, que traslado al espacio de la piscina abandonada, llevando lo pequeño y personal que habita en la mente, al espacio grande y notorio que permite ser recorrido, habitado y compartido. Las imágenes se revelan por medio de la interpretación y traducción al universo ficcional, mientras que me oculto detrás del personaje.

This is a site intervention in an abandoned swimming pool on my family's farm, which I appropiate through drawing, alluding to the domestic space as an artificial place for cultivation, where relations of force between its inhabitants take place, such as those of predators and prey. This work is part of "Bagre Project" in which I explore shyness and discomfort, which in turn unleash questions about identity, instincts, inhabiting, and relationships with others, through a metaphorical character called Bagre. In De ca(s/z)a I take as a starting point a diary in which I wrote down thoughts on everyday situations, thoughts that I later transfer into the pool's surface, bringing the small and personal that lives in the mind, to the large space that allows it to be traveled, inhabited and shared. The images develop through interpretation and translation into the fictional universe, while I hide behind the character.

The title of the project "De ca(s/z)a" is a wordplay in spanish. Depending of the use of the "s" or the "z" on the phrase it means "From Home" or "In the hunt".
