In 2019, I was assigned this job at a church: create YouVersion covers for the first five books of the Bible. They had no vision, no preference, nothing. They gave me total creative freedom and trusted me with the project - a huge honor!

I am naturally bent toward illustration, so I thought I'd begin experimenting with displaying the story - well, a summary - of each book around the title. I presented Genesis to the creative team and was beyond grateful when they were on board with it and advised me to continue on. It was amazing! So from there, I created each YouVersion cover. The summary of the book starts on the left and goes toward the right, as any book typically goes in the English language. 

For example, in Genesis, the design begins with the creation account, then the tower of Babel, to a mix of Noah and Abraham, both signifying the vital and beautiful covenants God made with mankind.
