"Hope" linocut process

Proof print.
Hand printed on BFK rives paper with Caligo safe wash ink.
I wanted to carve something simple for the end of the year. These are Primula veris (or Primevère coucou in french). They grow in mountains during the spring. They are quite "early" flowers.

I had some BFK rives paper that I bought last year. It's a thick paper, but so beautiful ! With water based ink (and hand printing), it's almost impossible to have a good print. But with oiled based ink, it is easier to have a nice print. It's funny beacause the paper is thick but also soft and supple. My favourite paper is still the Zerkall, but changing paper is a good source of learning. Each paper has its properties and printing is different each time.
