Context:
India is home to over 20 percent of the world’s blind population. Unfortunately, it is also home to the largest number of blind children in any one country. A significant portion of this population has no access to tools and mediums to learn and explore.

Our group visited training centers, educational institutes and dormitories for blind to understand their ways to learn and educate themselves, we also collected and observed the tools used by them. With the insights from the faculty and trainers we worked on our area on intervention

Problems:
- In the existing scenario the visually impaired have to sketch mirror image of what the result is expected.
- Writing in Braille is another task where the visually impaired read from left to right and scribe the mirror image of the alphabets from right to left.
- These two tasks increases the complexity of reading writing and drawing and is time consuming.
- The available solutions which address these problems are expensive and inaccessible.
Our solutions:

Assembly process
User testing with students of School for Deaf and Blind
Other explorations:

Mini Light table: An inexpensive light table for pupils with partial blindness who require more light while reading. This product is made of simple and replaceable parts to simplify the assembly and usability.
