Business Cards & Stationery
It was important for a non-profit start-up to be more cost-effective.
There is the color version & the black version for the whole stationery.

The cost of printing was a concern so for getting professionally printed letterheads and envelopes, in order to make them more convenient and cost-effective I created editable Microsoft Word Templates. These templates can be imported and shared with the necessary styles needed to keep the original format of the design.

They also received editable Word Documents as well as editable PDFs. These templates can also be used in Google Docs and LibreOffice. The second page of the letterhead carries over the footer from the first page & has the page count within the header.

Here are some screenshots of the editable Word Documents.

Logo Development History
Design Symbolism
The acorn is a symbol of perseverance and hard work. Having patience over long periods of time to accomplish objectives is mirrored by the acorn and its purpose to grow over time into a mature oak tree. The themes of growth, learning, and community cultivation reflect the core values of the BICS brand.
There are cultural reasons for this design choice as well. Mexico is covered in a wide range of different oak tree species baring many different shapes and sizes of acrons. Acorns are an important and historic food source and symbol for many Mexican indigenous peoples, especially within the Tlaxcala region. New York is also known for its oak trees and this common symbol connects these two different places together, as well as their communities.
The colors are also very important to their culture, especially red, yellow, green, and purple.

Founded by 2 women, Devon Morales & Fabiola Mendieta-Cuapio, who wanted to give back to their Indigenous, Hispanic, Palestinian, Arabic, and other immigrant communities in the Brooklyn area who are in need of assistance.  They are both related to and involved in these marginalized communities.  No matter their background or faith, everyone is welcome and included to receive aid.  They have created a space of security for immigrants so that they can have access to the knowledge and information they need to help themselves and their families so they have more support and opportunities regardless of citizenship status.  They want to generally help those of the immigrant community with their daily struggles, especially since they are the most vulnerable to economic disparity and systemic poverty.
