The AvAlANCHE zoom transceiver & Probe is an alpine rescue device that we helped to update and simplify, to save time - and lives.
We adapted an innovative closure technology that has been used in an unrelated sector before, to eliminate any error while assembling the probe. Extending the probe to full length simply requires pulling on one end, and the system automatically locks into place.
The Zoom+ is a redesign to its predecessor. The circle display makes it easily readable and the directional lights and arrows cause a better orientation. We improved the product semantics by clearly differentiating the actions of ‘searching’ and ‘sending’. Its optimized shape makes it simple to handle with gloves, even under harsh conditions. The adjusted product thickness makes it look sleek and the seal between the front and back cover ensures a better grip when wet and makes the device appear more compact.
