This book cover design was inspired by the typophoto process, created by the Hungarian artist László Moholy-Nagy. It is a process in which a designer combines the use of typography and photography. The Silver Star by Jeannette Walls is one of my favorite books, and I wanted to design a cover that fits well with the story. The bent hay represents the two sisters that have gone through hardship, while the curved placement of the title symbolizes the road they take as they grow.
