Subscription Box Project
For this project I was prompted to make up and create a company that sells a mailed subscription box. I chose to create the company, Coloration, which sells a subscription box that includes a coloring book and colored pencils for each month. For the sake of this project, I only showed the Christmas themed products for the month of December. In the subscription box for each month the package design will be related to the specific theme with a specific color palette.
For the illustrations on the packaging and in the coloring book you will see that the lines aren't perfectly straight with clean edges. I wanted to to go with a more hand drawn feel which keeps the illustrations fun and more approachable. I wanted to create an experience that promotes fun, relaxation, and creativity. The customer is encouraged to add more to the coloring pages such as their own patterns, details, and colors.
While designing the assets for this project, I was constantly thinking of package sustainability. My idea was to keep all of the packages white with simple repeating black line illustrations. This allows the customer to color the packages like the coloring pages, giving the package a new life.
