Burger King // Indonesian sign language font

when working on burger king indonesia's project in mid 2020, we discovered that there was no indonesian sign language font available. for a background, there are 2 types of sign language in indonesia: SIBI (indonesian sign language system) and BISINDO (indonesian sign language). SIBI is only taught at special need schools, while BISINDO is developed based on the Deaf culture, by the Deaf communities, and more accessible for the communities. BISINDO is also different in each area, following each customs. this BK BISINDO font is the jakarta version.

sign language alphabets are used by the Deaf community when there is no particular gesture for a word and separate letters are needed. For example, there is a gesture for ‘bread’, but ‘singularity’ or ‘Montana’ would require letters. this is why we created this font, in part of our latest campaign with burger king,
voice of the silent (sunyi bersuara).

using this font, we encourage companies and individuals to change their logo into indonesian sign language.
more than 20 companies, SMEs, even schools and government institutions changed their social media logo.
