Throughtout the Product Development Studio course in Politecnico di Milano, we had the opportunity to develop a real project with Kinder Germany. We were required to design new and innovative toys for their eggs which, following the design and security requirements, were integrated with new technologies.
Each developed product must:
-be buildable (at least 3 pieces) and easy to assembly
-be a versatile toy
-fit in both kinder surprise yellow valve and kinder joy valve
-be appropriate for the target age (3 to 6 years old)
-pass the gorge test (each component)
FIRE and WATER filters are born from the idea of allowing children to interact with the product using the propierties of light and colours. The toy comes with 2 interchangeable filters, a phone plier and a set of stickers.
Depending on the filter the user choose, a different image in the sticker will be shown. The toy can be adapted to any of the licenses avaliable for the company.
An integrated app was also designed. This helps children to understand how can the product be used. In the case of Pokemon, depending on the filter they use, different evolutions can be observed. Animations of the evolutions can be recorded and saved in the phones gallery. The capability of a second use has to be underlined, children can also use the filters to draw shapes.
