From ancient times, Azerbaijani carpets have been decorated in red as a field tradition. Treated with various plants, since the Middle Ages the colors here were also taken from different types of insects. The most common way to get a red color in the hand is cochineal. Motives of Karabakh carpets
The motifs of Karabakh carpets are unique in their artistic value and originality of interpretation. These carpets are based on the principle of horizontal symmetry in the true folk style of decorative mastery of the subject. Earlier, along with beautiful paintings on Karabakh carpets, the hunting plot was the main one, but later it is clear that the interest in carpet weaving has decreased. They had almost no dynamic hunting scenes, only the attributes and symbols of hunting. Later, this process deepened, and in the first quarter of the twentieth century, hunting completely disappeared as a subject, giving way only to compositionally related animal descriptions.
