A limited edition Japanese stab bound book consisting of photographs taken during June/July of 2012 in my homeland of Malaysia. Arrival is a photo journal which is displayed on a hand-made wooden stand with a planter box. This is an ornamental piece for the purpose of being displayed on a shelf or coffee table.
This project researched the limitations of hand made objects. Where some aspects of this piece were made with the help of machines, the majority of the work was hand done; from taking the photos, creating the concept, binding the book and constructing the stand.
The Chinese title was hand written by my father's friend who could best translate the concept of my project and the English version into the complex symbols of the Chinese language. It directly translates to "A Trip Back Home".
