is an ancient Chinese word describing colour that means blushing and shy.
《杏》
is an ancient Chinese word of apricot, describing colour that means stunning and lively.
《霽》
is an ancient Chinese word inspires by sunshine after snow season,
describing the white glows from land to the blue sky, giving sense of peace and calm.
《黛》
is an ancient Chinese word means describing black with purple & blue shade,
commonly found in ladies' brow colours, depicting the charm & seduction.

KELLY CHEUK, a photographer based in Hong Kong, spent two years to complete a series of works using a combined method of contemporary photography and contemporary painting with paleo colours, pictorial models and botanical art as inspiration for photo arts.
Growing up being obsessed with the beautiful lines of cover models of illustrations magazines, allowing the impression of 「美人」(Beauty) to fix a spot in the memory lane. Inspired by Ichiro Tsuruta, a Japanese Illustrator who is famous for his Bijine (beautiful woman portraits), Kelly uses photography to represent the woman as the centre-staged of the artwork, searching beauty in the inversion of time and evoked memories. By the means of photography, the ethos is encapsulated in a glass jar, and to be explored together with the audience. With an academic background of creative multimedia, KELLY put together a team of botanical artist, make-up artist and graphic designer, using the title《MEI : PRESERVED》 to truly articulate this aesthetic to act as the common language, and further develop into a this multi layered project.
