Sons do subterrâneo [Sounds of the Underground] is an experimental book consisting of interviews and analog photo essays that follow the marginalized reality of 7 different musicians and artists working in the subway environment of the city of São Paulo. Unlike other places in the world, musicians and artists in São Paulo are prohibited to perform in the subway premises. Therefore, to exercise their craft, artists take hold of the subway cars and perform in the few minutes it takes the train to travel from one station to the next, constantly having to escape the security guards who try to stop them. This project aims to portray this reality by giving voice to marginalized artists through interviews, showing the ambiguity of their daily lives among the acclaim of passengers and the illegality of the profession. The book design sought to take hold of the visual elements that compose the subway aesthetics, such as the repeated use of information codes, the silver color of the train machinery, the rounded windows, and the constant sense of movement.

Sons do subterrâneo é uma publicação editorial experimental que consiste em entrevistas e ensaios em fotografia analógica sobre a realidade marginalizada de 7 diferentes músicos e artistas que atuam no ambiente do metrô na cidade de São Paulo. Diferente de alguns lugares do mundo, em São Paulo, músicos e artistas são proibidos de atuarem nas instalações do metrô, portanto, para exercer seu ofício, os artistas se apropriam do ambiente interno dos vagões, realizando apresentações nos poucos minutos que o trem leva de uma estação até a seguinte, e constantemente precisam fugir dos seguranças que tentam impedi-los. O objetivo desse projeto é retratar essa realidade dando voz aos artistas marginalizados por meio de entrevistas, mostrando a ambiguidade do seu cotidiano, entre os aplausos dos passageiros e a ilegalidade da profissão. O projeto gráfico buscou se apropriar dos elementos visuais que compõem o ambiente dos metrôs, como o uso repetido dos códigos de informação, as cores do maquinário metroviário, as janelas com cantos arredondados, e a constante sensação de movimento
