This was a projection mapping project that several of my friends and I did in university, where we combined 2-D projections and 3-D surfaces with music. It was our first time using projection mapping, and we only had a day to familiarize ourselves with the software/execute the project.
The point of this project for us, was to enhance the viewer's experience of music, so that they are no longer just experiencing it auditorily, but also visually, in a 3 dimensional space, so as to make an augmented reality for the viewer/listener.
Hence, we had a projection, and I was in the middle playing the music that you hear. The visual was reacting to the music, while I changed it on my DAW in real time.
Although our initial idea was a lot more ambitious, due to the situation/technical difficulties/time constraint, much of that was not achieved.
However, all things considered, it still looks pretty sick.
